US Senate committee to hold hearing on AI and privacy

The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation will hold a hearing 11 July focused on how artificial intelligence impacts U.S. citizens' online privacy. The hearing is expected to feature a discussion on how AI technologies are increasing the need for a comprehensive federal privacy law as well as business guidelines around AI development and use. Israel's PPA publishes updated draft data transfer guidelines

Israel's Privacy Protection Authority published a draft opinion for regulations allowing for data transfers to other jurisdictions. The draft changes would allow the PPA to compel owners of databases in countries that do not have data adequacy agreements with Israel to make "required changes" in order for personal data to be transferred to such jurisdictions under contractual agreements.
