US House committee to release TikTok hearing transcript

Turkey's DPA approves SCCs, BCRs

Turkey's data protection authority, the Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, issued a notice on amendments to Article 9 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data concerning personal data transfers abroad. The amendments allow for organizations to utilize standard contractual clauses and permit binding corporate rules to transfer personal data outside of Turkey.

Saudi Arabia's DPA opens consultation on DPO appointment rules

The Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority commenced a public consultation on draft rules for data protection officer appointments. The rules clearly outline DPO qualifications and instances where data controllers must appoint a DPO, while detailing additional responsibilities an officer must take up in addition to those laid out under Article 32(3) of the Implementing Regulation of the Personal Data Protection Law.

Privacy personnel departures at Google raise concerns for US lawmakers
