United Airlines may use consumer data to serve targeted ads on its mobile app or planes' entertainment systems, The Wall Street Journal reports. Passenger information such as flight history or United MileagePlus rewards could be used to target ads, however, consumers will have the option to opt out of data tracking.Full story
The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office delivered written warnings to the country's most visited websites to improve third-party cookie practices or face enforcement actions. The ICO did not provide company names or approximately how many notices were served, but it expects amended practices within 30 days of the notices.

Ransomware group LockBit claimed responsibility for data breach that stole 1.5 terabytes of data from Canadian government employees, SC Magazine reports.
