US court blocks Florida law banning teen social media accounts

MediaPost reports a Florida law banning children under age 14 from creating accounts on online platforms with so-called "addictive features" has been struck down by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida on free speech grounds. "Youth have First Amendment rights," Judge Mark Walker wrote. "Youth are people, not mere people-in-waiting or extensions of their parents.

Cybersecurity professionals endorse US cyber director nominee

A group of cybersecurity professionals sent a letter to the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee endorsing National Cyber Director nominee Sean Cairncross, Cyberscoop reports.
