IMY to probe criminal conviction publication databases

Sweden's data protection authority, the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, placed two online databases under supervision to further examine data protection allegations around their publishing criminal records information. Parallel vote proposed to decide EDPS stalemate

The Council of the European Union and European Parliament are negotiating a potential parallel vote 8 April to end an impasse between the two bodies on the appointment of the next European Data Protection Supervisor, Euractiv reports. The council and Parliament are attempting to resolve a deadlock between former EDPS Wojciech Wiewiórowski and European Commission Head of International Data Flows and Protections Bruno Gencarelli.
