Ransomware attack affects Hong Kong Institute of Bankers

Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data Ada Chung announced six servers belonging to the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers was hacked in a ransomware attack, which affected roughly 113,000 people, The Standard reports. She said the personal data of more than 13,000 institute members and 100,000 nonmembers was stolen in the hack and the attacker threatened to upload stolen files to the internet, while seeking a ransom to decrypt them.
