IAPP announces AIGG 2024, seeks session proposals

The IAPP announced its AI Governance Global 2024 will take place 4-5 June 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. The conference will shift to Europe in 2024 on the heels of potential finalization of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act in the lead-up to the event. In preparation, the IAPP seeks proposals for breakout sessions covering the wide range of issues around AI development, use and regulatory compliance. The deadline to submit AIGG proposals is 21 Jan. 2024.

Exploring 'model disgorgement' and retraining bad algorithms

If artificial intelligence models are trained on tranches of "bad" or illegally obtained data, it is difficult for developers to wind them back to a state where a given model is trained solely on "good" datasets, IAPP Research and Insights Analyst Brandon Lalonde writes.
