US lawmakers applaud FTC privacy rulemaking, call for more action on COPPA
Several U.S. lawmakers wrote a letter to Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan to praise the agency’s efforts to curb surveillance of children online. The letter coincided with the FTC announcing an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for online privacy. In the letter, Sens. Ed Markey, D-Mass., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Reps. Kathy Castor, D-Fla.
