Legal Compliance: Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (“MCDPA”)

Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (“MCDPA”)

The Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (“MNCDPA”) grants Minnesota residents rights such as accessing, correcting, deleting, and obtaining copies of their personal data, as well as opting out of data sales, targeted advertising, and certain profiling activities. The law applies to businesses that process the personal data of at least 100,000 consumers annually, or derive over 25% of revenue from selling personal data and process data of at least 25,000 consumers. It aligns with similar privacy laws in other states, while incorporating specific provisions tailored to Minnesota’s regulatory landscape. The MNCDPA is effective July 31, 2025.
