Oklahoma’s comprehensive consumer data privacy law, Senate Bill 546, takes effect January 1, 2027. Governor Kevin Stitt signed the legislation on March 20, 2026.
The law gives qualifying Oklahoma consumers rights over their personal data and establishes obligations for covered businesses involving privacy notices, consumer requests, sensitive data, targeted advertising, data sales, processor contracts, and data protection assessments. Businesses should determine whether they are covered before the effective date.
